Traveling to and from
Of course like many other Caribbean island there are no direct flights to Virgin Gorda. If you are coming from the United States we have found it cheaper to fly into St. Thomas and ferry boat(s) to Virgin Gorda.

When arriving in St Thomas take a taxi to bring you to the boat docks in Charlotte Amalie. Try to pick earlier flights coming into St Thomas as the last boat out is aprox 4:30.
Either Native Son or Road Town Fast Ferry will take you to Road Town, Tortola. You will clear customs in Road Town first. Get on Speedy's ferry to Virgin Gorda. You will board Speedy's Ferry without a ticket, they will collect your fair while in route to VG. If you ask around, others will help make sure you get on the right Ferry.
On Tuesday and Saturday, Speedy's has a direct ferry to Virgin Gorda that leaves around 5pm. Please check the BVI Ferry Schedule to make sure.

There are options to fly first into San Juan, Puerto Rico then into Beef Island, Tortola. From Beef Island, Tortola it is only a 20-minute ferry ride to Virgin Gorda. Seaborn Air, flies from Puerto Rico to Beef Island regularly. There are also a couple other smaller charter operations that may fly directly into Virgin Gorda. Taxi or rental car can be arranged to meet you there.
After setting up rental car agreement, keep their phone number handy to let them know when your ferry will be arriving and they will meet you at the dock. If you ask, the rental car service can lead you all the way up to the villa. Please make sure and tip them accordingly.
Getting Around
While it is possible to spend your time on the island without renting a car ,we would recommend renting one. Check out rental company links on the ISLAND page. They all have cars for hire.
Brush up your driving skills because we drive on the left hand side of the road. There are usually taxis waiting at Leverick Bay to take a group of people back and forth to town. Car rental by far is the easiest way to get around and have your freedom
